Composer & Arranger

Born and raised in Valdez, Alaska, Chris grew up in a household that lacked musical talents. But after being introduced to piano through his childhood babysitter he quickly showed musical abilities. With supportive parents, he began taking piano lessons and playing flute in his elementary school band. Shortly after grasping the basics of music, he began attempting to write his own compositions. Continuing his musical interests, he had taken up playing alto sax, and tuba in high school as well. Then, in his junior year in high school, he won a young artists composition competition in Alaska with his composition Legend of Pele. After graduating high school, experiencing burn out and feeling unmotivated in his musical ventures, Chris took a hiatus from education and music. But after a few years of work, some self-discovery, and moving to Washington, Chris's spark for music returned. This spark inspired him to drop everything, move again, but to the east side of Washington, and study music composition under Dr. Jonathan Middleton at Eastern Washington University. While there, he was able to find his voice in music by drawing inspiration from nature and the human experience and conveying it in orchestral contexts that resemble those of large cinematic soundtracks.
